The Rude Mechanicals, described by the Washington Post as "artistic anarchists," "intense, vibrant and original," are going to be tackling Hamlet this fall, and bringing it to fantastic theater venues in Washington DC, Baltimore and New York City, as well as their home base in Laurel, MD. This event continues Area 405's commitment to produce and promote arts and cultural programming in Baltimore's Station North Arts and Entertainment District. Creative and fearlessly controversial, they're drawing an audience of like-minded, sophisticated rebels. They're a forum for challenging ideas, for lovers of Shakespeare, for method workshops, for love of the craft, for theater that truly "holds the mirror up to nature" in the same uncompromising manner Hamlet does itself.
