This event is a program of AREA 405's first tenant exhibition 405 DAILY.
Hosted by artist Thea Canlas, Kain Na invites you to enjoy Filipino food as part of her installation Pananabik (Longing) (2026). This food gathering activates Thea's work, which is part recreation of her grandmother's kitchen in the Philippines and part of Baltimore.
Thea Canlas’s site-specific installation occupies the Gallery’s fridge, featuring Philippine food sourced locally in Baltimore. Drawing on her Philippine upbringing, the work emphasizes how early colonial economies continue to shape modern global foodways. The dinner is prepared from these foods.
Vegan and gluten-free options available.
